Fear Nothing But God

After the death of King Charles II, the villages of the Somerset Levels become central to the intrigues that follow as the pretender James Scott, Duke of Monmouth, invades the West Country to claim the throne from his uncle, King James II. However, the mist-haunted moors become a battleground for more than the throne of England as the bitter threads of one woman's vengeance are woven together with an ancient and virulent evil.

Something for the Weekend

When Danny Bowers reluctantly joins an English Civil War re-enactment society to impress the girl he has chased since childhood, he soon finds himself involved in the low-level intrigues of an irascible colonel locked in a personal feud with the Army of Parliament, a philandering Lord General, and the more sinister machinations of an unscrupulous historian with his own axe to grind.

A Flash in the Pan

With the trials of the previous season put behind them, a new summer of re-enacting lays ahead for Harding’s Regiment of Foot. William Sneath and his machinations are defeated and the Army of Parliament is humbled and in disarray. But not all fights are fought on the battlefield and the difference between friend and foe is not always clear cut, while complacency leaves a fertile breeding ground for new and unexpected problems. Surely, though, a run of increasingly bad luck cannot really be down to the restless spirit of Colonel Harding himself? Shoulder your pikes, give rest to your muskets, and advance once more into the whiff of powder smoke and portaloos…

The Revenger's Tragedy

After the tangled dramas of the previous season, the future is looking rosy for the members of Harding's Regiment of Foot - on a personal level at least, for with Howard Reason's "Eikon Basilike" going from strength to strength the very existence of the regiment, if not the society, is in peril. Can Harding's push back against the mighty "Eikon Basilike" juggernaut? Who is Howard Reason's mysterious backer? And why do Clive Dixon-Smith's lady friends keep leaving him with their dogs? As the season progresses, Harding's find themselves drawn into a situation more toxic than a double cheeseburger with all the works from "Frying Tonight" - and far more than their reputation is at stake...
